The services described
The archived Branton University page said its student and alumni services aimed to give everything needed to succeed academically and professionally. It mentioned credit transfer, financial support and job placement, delivered on an online platform with counsellors and advisers, along with a range of academic resources. The statements are the institution’s own and are not verified here.
Services students commonly need
- Advising: a named person who helps plan your course load and monitors progress
- Technical help: a service desk for login, video and file problems
- Library and resources: access to e-books, journals and databases
- Credit evaluation: a written assessment of what earlier study counts
- Assessment support: clear rules for resits, extensions and appeals
- Career help: CV reviews, interview coaching and job boards
- Alumni access: a directory, events and continued access to course material
How to test a promise
- Ask for service levels. How quickly will a message be answered?
- Ask for a demo. Many providers offer a trial of the learning platform, so you can see what you would use.
- Ask about escalation. Who handles complaints, and is there an external ombudsman?
- Talk to graduates. Contact alumni via professional networks rather than testimonials chosen by the provider.
Alumni networks
Alumni communities can be valuable, but their size is often claimed rather than shown. A real network is visible through public profiles and independent groups. See alumni stories and placement claims and career development for more.
